Solution

Flexibility, operability, and process performance were all key requirements for the customer when we delivered these Drug substance thaw baths. The ability to handle a wide range of bottle quantities and sizes, heating and cooling times, and to perform a bath sanitisation, were the main drivers for the process and mechanical design of these units.

Utilising a proprietary sparging system for the gentle mixing of recirculating heating and cooling medium assisting with the overall heat transfer requirements, allowed for a more controlled and balanced thaw process. ?

Because of the integrated design of the baths, the units could be fully tested in our facility.  We used cryogenically frozen bottles with test medium to confirm performance prior to on site delivery, with minimum mechanical and electrical disconnection.
