OEB5 Ballroom Super Skid

As we had previously completed a number of projects for this customer, and because of  our extensive experience in building Super Skid modules and structures, BCD were asked to design and build a Ballroom type superskid, which could be installed in a modular fashion.

Solution

BCD were engaged early in the project lifecycle to develop a design for the modular build of a 3 floor Ballroom suite offsite that could be installed in a modular fashion minimising site installation time and allowing for FAT testing that could be leverage against SAT activities to reduce activities onsite. 
The key element of this project was the early engagement and accelerated mechanical design up to 60% in order to reduce risk to the customer and to the overall end design.

Providing full mechanical design and BIM coordination, each floor was constructed and fully assembled in our dedicated skids workshop which allowed the customer to fully FAT the assembly as it would be installed onsite and broken down into modules that could be easily shipped and installed in their final location.
